Vytilla, Kochi

Vyttila serves as the largest and busiest junction in Kerala, located approximately 6 km south of Kochi city centre. It is formed by the intersection of NH‑66 (Kochi Bypass) with key arterial roads like SA Road, Thammanam Road, and Vyttila–Petta Road, making it a critical commercial and transit hub. The area gained further prominence with the inauguration of the 6-lane Vyttila Flyover in January 2021, aimed at easing traffic at the junction. Vyttila is home to the Vyttila Mobility Hub, one of India’s largest integrated transit centres that brings together long-distance and city buses, Kochi Metro, rail, and the Kochi Water Metro ferry terminal. The area boasts strong social infrastructure including schools (Toc-H Public, Nalanda, St. Rita’s), Yerakani Hospital, Welcare, Akshaya Hospital, several banks, and proximity to malls like Gold Souk Grande, Central Square, and Siso Mall. Despite its busy nature, Vyttila offers green relief with landscaped parks and the Mobility Hub Park—a pleasant spot for walks, play zones, and community leisure. Waterbodies like Vyttila Lake are popular for boating and birdwatching, giving residents a scenic escape within city life.
