Carmelaram, a village situated in the Sarjapur Road, Varthur Hobli. Once a small village, it is now a part of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike. Carmelaram means a garden of Carmel and this village got its name from the Carmelite Priests who bought small pieces of land to make training centres. Multiple institutions joined in to make their own training centres and the village grew into a training hub. With the enormous growth in the IT sector, the village came under the Bangalore City. It is 11 km away from the Electronic City. It is also connected to the NH-7 which joins Salem and Bangalore.
