ORR or the Outer Ring Road is a road which forms a circle by shape and covers most of the Bangalore city’s perimeter. The road stretches around 60 km and is developed by the BDA or Bangalore Development Authority. The road has multiple commercial establishments, residential buildings, retail shops, restaurants and stalls. It connects some major National Highways and a State Highway which are the NH-4, NH-7, NH-209 and SH-17. The popular landmarks around this area are Bangalore University, Kengeri, JP Nagar, HSR Layout, Nandini Layout, Marathahalli, BTM Layout and Upanagara. A major work for the development of this area was done in-between 1996 to 2002.
