Ramanagara is not only a town but also a city municipal council. It is located in the state of Karnataka, India. This town is also the head quarter of Ramanagara District. During the reign of Tipu Sultan, this town was known as Shamserabad and then during the pre-independence time it was known as Closepet named after Sir Barry Close. Later Closepet was again renamed as Ramanagara as Lord Rama visited this place during his vanavasa and dwelled in the hills called Ramadevara Betta. This township is well equipped with all the necessary facilities and amenities. Transport, education and hospital services are also available in here.
