India's East Mumbai includes the suburb of Kurla. It serves as the taluka's administrative centre in the Mumbai Suburban district. The neighbourhood bears the name of the East Indian village where it originated. It is located in Bombay Municipal Corporation Zone 5, Ward 'L'. The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) for out-of-station passenger/express trains is located at its railway station, which was named Coorla until 1890 and is one of the busiest on the Mumbai suburban railway on the central and harbour railway lines of Mumbai.
