Gajuwaka is a large and important suburb (mandal) of Visakhapatnam, known for being both a bustling residential area and a commercial hub. It was merged into the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) in 2005. With a population in the hundreds of thousands, it is one of the most densely populated and industriously active areas in the region.
