ADYAR

Located on the banks of the Adyar River in Chennai, there is a large neighbourhood of the same name. It started growing full steam after Mrs. Helena Blavatsky established the Theosophical Society in the area in 1833. Today it is one of the most expensive places in Chennai with around four times the cost of land than its northern areas. Adyar is also the go to place for nature lover as it houses the Adyar Eco Park that was started by the government of Tamil Nadu to restore the delicate and endangered estuary of the Adyar eco system.
