An Overview
Alwarpet is located in the central part fo Chennai and is a mixed residential zone. It is one of the high end neighborhoods in Chennai. A number of famous personalities like M. K. Stalin, Sir C. V. Raman used to live here and their houses are still present in this area. The M.Ct.M Chidambaram Chettyar is one of the renowned schools in the city and it is located here. It is known because the famous actor Kamal Hassan owns a home here. This residential area lies adjacent to Poe's Garden which is also one of the upscale neighbourhoods in the city.
