An Overview
The East Coast Road is also known as the ECR Road is located in Chennai and this is basically a two lane highway. The ECR Road is on the coast of Bay of Bengal and it extends to Kanyakumari and is as long as eight hundred kilometers. The Government of Tamil Nadu and the Department of Highways maintains the ECR and this is being developed eventually to be four lane highways. This road apart from being one of the arterial roads is also best for long drives. Also there are a number of interesting places falling along the ECR Road which like temples, lagoons, ports etc.
