MADAMBAKKAM

Madambakkam is a town panchayat which is also primarily a renowned locality in the Southern part of Chennai. Madambakkam is bordered by Selaiyur, Vengaivasal, Sithalapakkam etc. This is town which is surrounded by lush greenery and the age old Dhenupureeswarar Temple is located here as well. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it was established during the reign of the Chola dynasty. This temple is built by the Parantaka Chola II whoc was also known as Sundara Chola. There are a number of artistically enriched sculptures and postures of Lord Shiva. This is one of the oldest localities of the city.
