An Overview
Maraimalai Nagar is a municipality town in Tamil Nadu's Chengalpattu district. It is a satellite town of Chennai, the state capital, and is located in the southern portion of the Chennai metropolitan area. It is roughly 50 kilometres from Downtown Chennai (Egmore) and 15 km from Vandalur. It was created in 1980 by the CMDA. Maraimalai Nagar contains a lot of heavy industrial areas. Within a mile of Maraimalai Nagar are the Ford India and BMW car manufacturers, and eight km away is where the Indian software behemoth Infosys has an office.
