PADAPPAI

Padappai is located in Chennai and is a rather small town developing in the suburbs at a distance of thirteen kilometres from Tambaram. It is connected to the main city by Bangalore Highway and some of the giant companies have their offices near this town. For example, Nissan, Alstom T&D, Apollo Tyres, Infac India etc. Padappai road extending from Vandalur to Walajabad passes through Oragadam and connects the two main districts of Chennai and Kanchipuram. The nearby villages to Padappai road are Panapakkam, Athanancherry, Vanchuvancherry, Karasangal, Pandruti, Aloor etc. Padappai is an ancient Tamil word which means ‘beautiful Tamil garden.
