An Overview
Thoraipakkam is knwon as Okkiyam Thoraipakkam or Thuraipakkam and is a locality in Chennai.It falls on the IT expressway, located on the Old Mahabalipuram Road which is now called as the Rajiv Gandhi Salai. This is a six lane road in Chennai. Okkiyam Thoraipakkam is located on the eastern side of the Pallikaranai marsh which is a proclaimed reserve forest area. It is among the few significant natural ecosystems in the world. Thoraipakkam extends over a length of three kilometres and starts Perungudi in the north. It is located in the midway of the OMR Road similar to Sholinganallur or Navalur.
