TONDIARPET

Tondiarpet is another popular neighbourhood in Chennai and the name is derived from a seventeenth century Muslim saint known as Kunangudi Masthan Sahib. This place is exactly located in the northern part of Chennai and lies in proximity to Bay of Bengal. Tondiarpet is bordered by important neighbourhoods of Chennai which include Georgetown. Chennai International Airport is at a distance of twenty six kilometres and the residents are served by the Tondiarpet railway station which is a part of Chennai Central- Gummidipoondi Line. There is a flourishing trade and commerce scene in Tondiarpet and there are export enterprises which deal in silk attires and jewellery.
