WALAJABATH

Walajabad is located in the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu and it is a panchayat town and falls under Walajabad taluk. Initially known as Shivapuram it was later named as Walajabad and is renowned for Vishnu and Shivan temples which belong to the Pallava dynasty. Walajabad is a junction that connects the main cities like Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Illaiyanaavellur. The industrial estate SIPCOT is located at a distance of 17 Kms from the town of Walajabad. This revenue block has a total of 61 pachayat villages. This city is further divided into 15 wards according to 2011 census.
