Bund Garden is 2 kilometres from the Pune Railway Station. The gardens are located near Fitzgerald Bridge and receive their name from the Mula River's bund, or dam. Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, a Parsi merchant and philanthropist, created these tiny dams to provide irrigation water to the underprivileged. When the bridge was finished in 1869, the garden was opened. Colonel Sellon designed it and was able to transform the waste space into a garden, which is now known as the "Mahatma Gandhi Udyan," a reference to the existing bridge that connects to the Gandhi National Memorial.
