An Overview
Neelangarai is also known as Neelankarai and it is a locality in the Southern part of Chennai. The nearest town is located at a distance of seven kilometers from this place. The meaning of the name Neelamkarai is Blue Shore and previously it was known as Thiruneelakandapuram from Thiruneelakandeshwarar Temple. Over the past few years, Neelangarai has developed prominently more because of its strategic location being surrounded by Pallavakkam, Vettuvankeni and Thoraipakkam. Te Bay of Bengal lies on the east side. The East Coast Road which is the State Highway 49 and the Old Mahabalipuram road lies near to this town.
